That daemon prince conversion was a part of a World Eaters army showcase that was featured in White Dwarf pretty recently. It is a pretty standard conversion of the current CSM Daemon Prince model, but with Bloodthirster wings... It is on the Dreadnaut scenic base, but I'm not sure where the head comes from. The sword is a Hell Sword (usually held by bloodletters), but was made from scratch out of plasticard and GS by the army owner. This is just a cool conversion from a studio staff member's Word Bearers army.

That Daemon Prince is a conversion that was in WD from the doubles tournament in the UK.

So someone can't call out a poorly converted model unless they show they can do better? Yeeeeah...that comment is even dumber than the other people calling it down.

I'm not gonna scratch build a $100+ model just to prove his looks like ass...and he works for GW to boot, so has access to much, much cheaper models and in this case, otherwise unavailable pieces. I know what you're getting at Thomas, but not the best way to put it...

the demon prince is a little wacky looking. I think it's because his left arm looks so much longer than the right, and the difference in the hands is distracting. The hand with the sword is sorta normal sized, but then his left has the long fingered mutie style hand, and the arm looks long enough to drag those fingers on the ground.
Next time I bump into a demon prince on the street I'll have to ask him what he thinks....

its a studio conversion using the metal demon prince, bloodthirster, and a 3 uped bloodletter hellblade

Wade converted his interpretation of Angron. It's based on the current metal DP. The sword is a 3 up resin bit from the larger 3 up models that GW uses to create the molds for the regular sized bloodletters.

Wade is an accomplished modeller and also works for GW.

And may I also say how refreshing that so many of those posters with negative comments have posted their own work to show the rest of us what a "truely great conversion" of Angron or anything else looks like.

I can appreciate that some may not like the model but at least offer some constructive criticism. Posts of "Fugly" are just a waste of bandwith.

yeup, conversion.
wings, right arm and torso are bloodthirster parts, legs and left arm are the metal daemon prince, no idea bout the head, and the sword appears to be a massive hellblade from the plastic bloodletter kit. maybe the guy got his hands on one of those resin 3-ups they do?

Without reading your post I've got the impression that was Angron conversion (gold armor), a merge of metal Demon Prince and a Bloodthirster with a scratchbuild runic sword (too big) based on a Bloodletter sword design.
Not my vision of Angron in demonic form but not so bad.

Reading your posts i've got the confirm of my thoughts ^^

Well I hope you put your money on "conversion", since it couldn't be any more obvious. If you want to see the plastic model look in the Planetstrike book (which is odd since I've seen that pic from Planetstrike posted here a week or two ago, so there really shouldn't have been any confusion).

It's a conversion of the current one. The head without the horns on it is just like the current metal one, and the left arm is the same also. I also know this model is supposed to be the primarch Angron. I personally think the sword is too insanely huge and thought he would have the huge glaive/axe that he is usually depicted having. But maybe the sword counts as a kind of berserker glaive or special daemon-sword.

I like the sword. The rest of the mini is meh, methinks, while the paintjob.... repells me. Those red spines with black skinflaps on the wings are sooo 90's....

That is definitely not the new daemon prince.

I've seen the new daemon prince sprues and its not anything like this.

The daemon prince you have before you is nothing more than a conversion.
recipe:
current 40k daemon prince legs, forearm & fist
the upper body, head, wings and upper left arm is all from the bloodthirster model.
