"Thank god we found all those old MG42's lying around!" Other than that the models look pretty cool, but I cant say I'll EVER have money to make a FW renegades army, but the Warhound inferno guns look pretty awesome

Bah that's how it goes. I had just finished converting a Turbolaser for my Mars'hound a few months ago.

That Inferno gun looks pretty mean :)

any idea what the base size of that model is? just trying to figure out if it would work on any of our larger roundbases. i;ve never seen a warhound in person.
hopefully it will fit on a 150mm or smaller round base.

Not likely. The feet are about 12 centimetres long from the back toe to the front, and they will also need at least ten centimetres or so between them. The whole titan will be 20 to 25 centimetres tall when completed.

I wish I could afford a Mars pattern Warhound....

Varks 3 off to the printers? Well, on the one hand YAY! Soon I'll be able to order it and start using a nurgel themed Renegade Guard army like I've always wanted. On the other hand, even though I didn't see it myself, apperently the renegade forces are still using the old organizational system from Varks 2, which means they have a few advantages, but alot of over-costed units...

Darn it. The Mars Pattern not having Turbo lasers was the only thing preventing me from getting one. I swear, FW is trying to make sure I never finish all my models. I'm almost done with my Elysian Army, and now this.

Is it just me or does the Warhound look plastic and the weapons resin?
PenelopeTheWonderPony

I think its just different shades of resin- it happens sometimes. Compare the colour of the main gun and the gunshield on this, both of which are resin: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Imperial%20Guard/Me...

It's just different colors of resin, you get that in a lot of forgeworld kits.

I thought so, but a man can dream can't he? I have heard that come Christmas there will be a new super-heavy kit out. I hope its this but the smart money is on the Thunderhawk, or a new Space Marine flyer. Which makes since seeing how in all the new fluff they make it sound has if the Thunderhawk is rarer then they did in past fluff. Who knows, it could be just a IG tank. Hope not as other armys need some super-heavy love too.

I need Ork stuff! Preferably the battlewagon kits, but to be honest, the flak trukk has been completely finished since GDUK last year at the latest - they could at least throw us that particular bone.

I keep waiting and waiting for SOMEONE.. GW or Forgeworld to redo the Ork warbuggies/wartrakks... the old sculpts look as horrible as the old ork bikers, that's what I'd love to see for my speed freek army..

Figures of course they come out with the new arms AFTER I finish assembling my new Mars Warhound, though given the weight of the things there was no way I'd feel comfortable magnetizing to swap around anyway, I suppose, so pinning in place was kinda the default.
For any folks considering ever getting one, two words of warning. First, assembly takes a LONG time; I think I worked out there were 24 pieces in each foot alone, and there are a million pistons that need to be cut to fit. Be prepared to take a while, and involve a lot of dry-fitting and measuring pre-cut. The weight is high enough you're pinning EVERYTHING also; I wound up running a pin completely through the waist into both legs to ensure that area was strong. Second, whatever pose you pick, be sure it has two things; feet that are completely flat on the ground and arms pointing outwards. I failed to do both, and wound up with a model that was damn near impossible to balance (I wound up screwing it to a base eventually) and the cabling you're supposed to attach to the arms by heating and bending resin cables into place becomes impossible (I went with actual wire cable, which should look OK primed at least). About drove me into screaming insanity dealing with those two issues.
Deal with those things though, and it's an awesome model :).

I must have really been inspired when I did mine. I think assembly of mine only took about 6 to 7 hours. I even did a non-flat footed stance....
The only thing that you would need to make sure you do is build it first, with no glue/pinning (a dry run) and find where you want things to line up. Then, start assembly and dry fit each time you make another addition. Now, I did pin the foot to the devilfish, then to the board using a quarter inch brass rod, and that really helps with the stability.

Ugh, of course, six months after I purchase my Mars Warhound, they decide to release the turbo laser.... I will probably pick it up, because I found that the MegaBolter that it uses really doesn't do that well when playing apocalypse (of course, my Macharius Vulcan can take care of the foot sloggers). Well, at least I got a really good deal on the Warhound, as I got it when it was 1.4 dollars per pound, so I guess another 60 bucks for the turbo laser isn't too bad!
hopefully it will fit on a 150mm or smaller round base.
