1) If you were truly sorry to derail the topic, you wouldn't have done so. 2) The belief that this suggestion will have the kind of impact necessary to cause GW to change their marketing strategy shows delusional thinking. 3) A large number of customers are looking forward to Planetstrike, reinforcing point #2 above. Now can we move along to useful, constructive comments from others please. Thanks.

would constructive be along the lines of "yeah there hosting a planstrike at there battle bunker i would have never imagine that they would hold my hands an show me how to play there new expansion to 40k." repeat and rinse; seriously.
i only did it cause other BOLS post of planstrike no one else mention the boycott....

You're correct, no one else mentioned the boycott on BoLS, so take the hint, there is no boycott. As you pointed out, the BoLS posts about Planetstrike don't mention a boycott because most customers are looking forward to it. The writers (Fly Lords) here on BoLS are all enthusiastic about Planetstrike too. Did you really think you're comment was going to change all that? Be serious, be rational, move on.

Boycott the boycott!
Yeehah- this is what gaming is meant to be: fun, not angsty competitiveness.

I just got my new issue of white dwarf....and man....the planetstrike battle report looked pretty cool. I, for one, cant wait to try it out. The terrain also looks pretty awesome. I will have to buy a new shelf just to keep it all on....lol

It's times like these that make me hate the fact that I live absolutely no where near a GW product selling retail store... closest one is about.. a good 100-200 miles away...

Hey all Scott here from Bay Hammer, if your in Cupertino, CA or near by, Legends Comics and Games will be hosting month long planet strike games (there should really be a list of local retailors doing these events) other then that cant wait to pick up my Bastion and booklet. You can find links to WCC on the bay hammer blog, since BoLs would probably not take to kindly to me posting that here. Remember to support your local game stores this July 4th.
Cheers

I love how the blurb says " 25,000 points, one of the biggest events in battle Bunkers" etc.
When my store was still open (it was a Bunker) our Apoc Day Apoc Game was 105,000 points. Our sister store across the city had ~100k as well, and we lobbed deathstrikes at each other over the phone even.
Good Ole Canada.. never getting a mention anymore by GW North America :)

Two things it appears you missed in the article at top:
The 25,000 points of Tyranids is the army of a SINGLE PLAYER. This does not include the many thousands of points being provided by everyone else participating that day.
As for Canada never getting a mention, the Planetstrike launch events are for all of North America per the GW website at the link I provided in the article.

Telephone guided Deathstrikes!
Have to love the idea of two separate stores having simeltaneous battles and trading Deathstrike fire like that.

Yeah, when Apoc was launched in Australia, we were doing that, across the whole country's GWs I believe (four foot across....yep...two foot deep...fire!). One of the strikes phoned in on us took out half my IG army :P Though I believe we might have bombed somewhere in Western Australia back...
Planetstrike looks interesting, I must say. I might even blow some dust off my old IG and head out to see what it's all about.

Yeah!! I always liked Cities of Death & now PlanetStrike seems set to take another step in providing Fun Games with lots more choices than standard scenarios. Drop Pods, Valkyries, Defence Bastions etc Lets all get ready to "Rock"

They're doing a game of Apocalypse Planetstrike at my local UK GW as well. Elites, need more elites. Last week we had a game of planetstike to show people how it worked and we had three objectives to take. I was on the attacker side and me and another person both had a squad of termies. His helped completely capture one objective while the other objective was held by the defenders. My termie squad had assaulted the last objective on the last turn of the game which meant that was contested and all contested objectives go to the attacker. termies for the win!
