The pedestal will make the turret clear the top of the crennelations. Extra roof sections come with the sprue that GW sells.

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

You know what, that bastion idea works really, really well. This is the best idea I've seen for the Bastion yet. This coupled with my fortress walls project I'm going to be making out of Bastions, should make the Bastion GWs best selling product ever.

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

Cool, gives a good idea of what a Leviathan should include! Also gives more legitimacy than any rules I would cook up with myself.

Now the decision in wheter to make one myself!! :D

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

use a pull out ramp like you see on moving trucks. just a length of plasticard which pills out of a slot in the back, with notches at the back that let it flop down behind to the ground.

That's what I would use.

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

There are states for it here:
http://www.belloflostsouls....

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

Simple question: Is there a published data sheet for the Leviathan? Where?

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

For the rear hatch, could you build up either side of the vision slit to essentially make it a flat rectangle sticking out? Just up to where the flat edges of the bastion are - not the triangular parts at the very edge. That would give you a flat, wide surface to put a door on, although the height for a ramp would still be questionable (unless it extended out from the door when lowered?). I agree that the doomsday cannon could do with a slight angle and trim, although applause for the cheap and simple fix for it! I think it's shaping up really well - I'm tempted to make one myselkf even though I don't have an IG army. I still like the idea of the comm array to the rear though to emphasise that it's a command vehicle. A question - which model did the tracks come from?

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

iwould use the entire rear hatch as the ramp, the length of it will mean amore gentle slope allowing minatures to be placed on it.

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

You should remount the doomsday cannon so its on an angle, perhaps even make it swivable (is that a word?) Otherwise its looking great.

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

great work a few sugestions tho,the doomday cannon looks a littlie to long i'd cut in an inch or 2 (can't realy tell on the pic) i would put a baneblade cannon on the top maybe with a shorter barrel and just about every leviathin i've seen has a landing pad in the back, other then that it looks FANTASTIC!!! never would of thoght of useing bastions like that!,i would love to know how u made the tracks (maybe a tutuorial?) keep up the good work

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

Bols should put up an advanced Modeling tutorial that cover the myriad of resources you could use to make stuff along with specialize tools

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

It's awesome!
I really like the fusion of the bastion with a tank. It's awesome. The only complaint I have is the Doomsday cannon- and not the cannon itself but its mounting. I'd like to see it on some kind of vertical swivel.

Re: 40K Project Log: Leviathan Part 2

I love the simplicity of the doomsday cannon - but looks so good.
