Yay, first! Looks awesome I think. I can see it being used for dioramas much more than for gaming, though.

That is bomb. The only criticism I could give it would be it should have been a chimera, instead of a rhino. Reason being that chimeras are proportionally more common than a rhino.

Not really. The Space Marines, Rhino, Inquisition, Ecclesiarchy, Arbites, Mechanicus, and even the Squats use it these days. And early on, it was the transport for the entire Imperium, including the Crusade- to Heresy-era Imperial Army. While there are almost certainly more operational Chimeras than Rhinos in service today, when you're talking about wrecks from 10,000-20,000 years spread across a million worlds, I think it's more likely that Rhino wrecks would have survived and lasted the generations. Also, I believe it, and its variants, have some industrial and agricultural applications throughout the Imperium. So they are more numerous than you might initially think.
These would make great objectives or background pieces. And more than one could be used on the table... these can easily be converted to any Rhino-chassis variant, or even a looted Ork vehicle. Assuming the trees and other details will allow you some variation, even with conversion, a few of these, modified with Predator turrets, Demolisher cannons, etc, would make for a great armor graveyard. Throw some fantasy Skeleton bits around generously and you're there.

Combining the Space Marines, Inquisition, Ecclesiarchy, and Arbites & Mechanicus combat troops gets you nowhere near the number of guardsmen, by at least an order of magnitude. There are going to be quite a few wrecked rhinos around, but it's less common than the chimera in-setting.
It's just a far more iconic 40k vehicle, and far more common in the armies people play.

That looks awesome.
I predict many gaming tables will soon see wrecked rhinos in small woods.
A very cool piece of area terrain.
GW makes great terrain, I hope we see more stuff soon.

tree eyes? REALLY? :(

Yeah those eyes are retarted. Also, painting this looks like real work. The greatest thing about the Cities of Death terrain- and all well designed terrain, really- is that it was made in such a way that all it required was an undercoat and a couple of layers of drybrushing/overbrushing and pow! you had great looking terrain for the table. Ready to go with minimal work. Maybe a little flocking, or somesuch, but that's pretty much it. If I'm gonna spend the kind of time painting something like this needs to look good, it would be a model for my army or...... No, it would be a model for my army. Terrain is cool an' all, but not that cool. And those eyes just kill the piece, anyhow. Just so.......Lord of the Rings style or something. Maybe Warhammer Fantasy. But 40k? Nah. Nice paintjob for sure, though.

yea, it takes me long enough to paint a rhino as it is. i'd never get finished with that thing. now if they sold it prepainted...

Two thoughts -
I wonder how easily removable the rhino is? If it pops right out this would make a pretty nice Fantasy terrain piece too.
And how come GW has such reasonably priced terrain features and such ridiculously priced almost everything else? I wish whoever is deciding the price on all the terrain stuff (this, skull temple, planetstrike stuff) was put in charge of pricing the rest of the lines. They're really good at it.

The pricing most likely is due to a couple of things.
Firstly, terrain is really a secondary part of the hobby, as most people who don't simply make their own are more than happy to fight over various bits and pieces they find around the house. If GW want to sell them at all, they need to keep the price down to keep them attractive to a wider range of gamers.
Secondly, compared to squad and vehicle kits, the terrain kits are really quite simple, which I assume makes them easier and cheaper to manufacture.

I am extremely impressed with the amount of terrain GW is making lately. I have always wanted to set up my own table, and with all the new releases, plus a few of the older ones and on a Realm of Battle board, home and gaming groups now have an amazingly easy way to have very nice tables.
Keep it up, GW. (just please readjust the cost of the RoB! >.<)

Wow... This is quite impressive. For a moment I thought it was a display someone made for a GD competition. I'm glad to see GW is making more detailed terrain, which was until Cities of Death mainly a Forge World product. I have a feeling I'll be picking up at least one of these!

I am all over this if it truly is $25
b_G

So it really is a piece of terrain and not someones conversion (the underside is the decider really). Quite lovely. I'd agree with others, if only the prices of everything else was in line with that terrain, you can hardly get a real rhino for $25, let alone all that extra plastic and detail

That looks great! If the price is really that reasonable I foresee myself getting a couple of them.

I could definitely see this being used as a base for some really awesome dioramas. I even see a lot of conversion potential. You could easily convert that Rhino to look part of any Imperial, Independent, or Chaos faction. That covers a third of the races in the 40k universe.
So much potential. You could do a whole Chaos diorama with CSM celebrating on top of the downed Rhino, with the trees painted up in Tzeentch theme. Or anything else you could think up!

My thoughts:
Pros -Glad to see more GW terrain. -Glad to see models incorporated into the terrain (Rhino, possibly Space Marine helmets too).
Cons -The piece is too cramped and busy. -The trees look terrible, and the eyes make them even worse. -What's with the circles of rocks?
TheGreatBeyond

The "circles of rocks" are blast craters.
LEGION3000
I believe they are also the perfect size to put an IG heavy weapon team. If terrain isn't usable its just a pain in the butt. I have a few hills I made that ended up too steep so they never get used.
Mike X
Way too organized to be blast craters, it looks like they were placed there...which works if there's a unit that makes use of it, but otherwise it just looks odd as "natural" landscape.
TheGreatBeyond
They are similarly "organized" as many of the Blastscape ones. This Battlescape piece is the craters set that was touted as "blasted rock" rather than the "eroded" Moonscape craters. You can model it as overgrown like they have here (at Toronto GD) with earth in the craters, or bare like they did with the one on display at Spain GD.

So I noticed a bit of a theme here.
The 6 piece battle mat had a bunch of skulls interspersed threw out The new temple of Skulls piece And now the Tzeentchy tree thing
I dont really care either way but there seems to be a strong push on the Daemon planet themed stuff. It would be nice to have some cool neutral terrain (besides the craters...and hills....and trees....and buildings......and well you know what I mean right?)

with all the demonic faces in the trees might as well lop them off at stump height. Other than the trees its a good piece, though I think I prefer the temple of skulls.
TheGreatBeyond

The trees are removable so you don't need to include them anyway. May as well base them up separately and use them as woods, Chaos or otherwise.
LEGION3000

Are you positive they are removable? The regular citadel woods is removable but these look like they are molded on.
It would be nice if they were removable.
oni
That's pretty cool, but I'm on the fence about the trees. If this is a piece that does in fact see release I hope that the trees are removable. If not I'm cutting them down to stumps.
Are those eyes on the trees? LAME!
omach

Hmm, dont like it at all. Who would ever use this piece? All the different features don't fit together (crater, swamp, rhino, treeswith eyes). Looking at it is disturbing. A pervertionof normal terrain. It feels like a twisted demonworld terrain. But i never heard about anyone using that theme in their games!

I'm not to keen on the fact that the trees have eyes but that's nothing a little green stuff can't fix. BTW the trees must be removable so they can fit this terrain into a box otherwise it's just to oddly shaped to be in one.

Meh.
GW produces excellent buildings (for the most part) and accent terrain - basically anything with lots of rivets, but landscapes are not their forte.
