WOW.....I dont know what else to say....WOW....im in conversion heaven.....WOW
  • chris · 1 year ago
If only they had more for the Grots to do. Oh well, it looks like my Orks army is gonna be a wave of bikers, deffkoptas and stormboyz with nobz and boyz in trukks and battlewagons. Just like Gork and Mork want it.
  • Sixsystems · 1 year ago
I think the cover save the the grots will give a squad behind them completely makes it worth fielding a mini-mob of 'em. Besides, how cool would you feel if your easily ignored group o' grots actually took something down in a game. I'm tellin' ya- they are the secret army!
  • Parcival · 1 year ago
Hey, one of my Grotz once killed a Grey Knight with his silly pistol! =)

(after that, the entire Grotz mob got extincted, of course)
  • Sixsystems · 1 year ago
I didn't witness the whole thing personally, so I don't know how in the world it went down, but years ago (3rd edition rules) I walked into the gaming area of the shop I frequented to see a ton of people shouting and laughing. The reason: a large squad of gretchin had killed a carnifex. As I recall, the 'fex had only a wound or two left from orks shooting at it, but it was the grot squad that finished it off.

    Certainly, a cause for celebration!

Never underestimate your grots, under the previous codex (when they had BS2), I decimated a squad of assault marines from shooting and sent the survivors packing. :)

I've been playing orks for about 10 years now, and this new edition of orks are the first update I've ever seen for them. yet theres been countless Space Marine updates....

Any word on whether the stormboy rokkits will be plastic as well? They weren't on that sprue.
  • jon · 1 year ago
thats cause the last update for the orks was about 10 years ago :D ha ha
yeah the rokits are plastic , shame about the attatched legs and seperate front thingy though, allthough ime asure a little choppy action will soon sort that out (@o.) ha ha
  • MarcusZ · 1 year ago
omg, I just love those gretchins/grotz (whats their current official name? changes all the time :p)

I don't play Orks, but I think I really have to get some of those little green guys!
  • Yamagon · 1 year ago
The same goes for me, but with the storm boys as well.

As if these are all plastic. They look to cool and to unique to be plastic!

GW just owes it to Ork players huh? Now all we need is other armies (OTHER THAN MARINES) to get this kinda treatment and ... we'll all be in heaven.

Must start an ork army... if only for the miniatures!
  • Sixsystems · 1 year ago
As on mentioned earlier, we Ork players have waited a good long time for GW to take care of us (10 years).

And I agree that it would be great if GW styled all the other races too! I'm fully supporting everyone else getting this kind of treatment, and I hope it happens soon. I can only hope, somewhat selfishly, that the treatment isn't too good- I can't continue to spend money on Games Workshop products at this pace!

The Orks call them Grotz, the humans call them Gretchin.
    Yay for more Orks!

The sensible days: Orks, Gretchin, Snotlings.

The Childish days: Orks, Grotz, Snotz

$5 says it goes up in price somehow.

Hey, has anyone heard anything about the dethrolla? is a plastic one included in the battlewagon?
  • Madjob · 1 year ago
No, it also appears there is no option for the killkannon or lobba, just zzap gun and regular kannon.
  • Yamagon · 1 year ago
There is always the one from FW

Either that or the old Ork way of converting your own. Tin can? The bigger the better I always say XD
  • Ianator · 1 year ago
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm positive that the black Battlewagon shown in the recent pictures features a weedy Killkannon in its big turret, with the Zzap Gun on its little turret.

Or I could just be overly optimistic, and it's just a regular Kannon, making the Wagon illegal in-game.
  • Madjob · 1 year ago
What you think is a zzap gun is a big shoota.
  • Sixsystems · 1 year ago
Pretty amazing models. I really am excited for the grotz to become availabe!!!!
  • Grim_Clown · 1 year ago
Alas! i can finally build that all Grot army.
  • Parcival · 1 year ago
Maybe you should purchase a bigger game board as well! =)
  • Azzy · 1 year ago
And I can build *another* all-grot army... or just replace my current one (with 180+ 2nd ed. grotz) with something that looks much, much better. :)
  • TheOrangeOrk · 1 year ago
There are going to be way more open spots in the mine feild clearin' department next year!
  • Annoyed · 1 year ago
Peek! It's sneak peek, for crying out loud! A sneak peak would be a stealthy mountain.
  • Azzy · 1 year ago
Oh, you're just making mountains out of (well-hidden) molehills. ;)
  • shredded by brother's orks · 1 year ago
you know, that price list was off for the Realm of Battle board by $90, so i doubt that gretchin box will be 15. maybe 20, 25, but not 15.
of course, it would be SWEET if i was wrong.

    but not sweet for me.

because that would mean more cheap stuff for my brother to destroy me with.

Really digging the new Ork stuff, especially the grots. Not keeping up on the rumours, I had initially thought the Stormboyz were metal after seeing the pictures. These new Orks, and the new DE Cold Ones, really show just how far plastic molding has come.

"Sarge, the Orks seem to have some reinforcements!"

Looks like I picked a perfect time to finally start the Ork army my heart has yearned for. I really can't wait for January - better start saving now...

Not that I'm ungrateful or anything, but anyone want to take bets on the date of the third wave? Cos, I've still got a hankering for my buggies and traks, not to mention flash gits.
To be honest, I can understand why they would choose to release these first, as they move away from metal, and metal hybrid, units, as well as having official models for all choices. Technically the buggies and traks have already fulfilled these criteria. However! They need an update. Like, now. In fact I'd be tempted to say don't bother with the stompa if they could give us buggies instead.
Actually that's a lie, but still...
  • Aaron · 1 year ago
Wow! The new Orks look great.

GW produces some amazing models. I got into this hobby primarily for the quality of the metal models. If there were just plastics from the start, I probably would find a different hobby. There's just something satisfying about holding a metal figure and feeling it's weight while you paint it. Sadly, GW seems to be on track to produce in plastic only. I bet that come 6th edition EVERYTHING will be plastic. Anybody else miss metal figures?

    Absolutely no.
