Excellent job, John. If Games Workshop keeps coming out with these amazing plastic kits, I will have to take a break from Fantasy for 40K..

Say what you will about GW's prices, but there's no denying the outstanding quality of their products. And both of these items look to be a very good bargain for what you get. Very nice indeed.

Pictures or it didn't happen. I have no desire to watch these goons with their crappy rock music, flashy animations & annoying voices. Just gimme pictures to look at.

Don't listen to the troll. These videos were great, high quality and very informative. Much better than some crappy snapshots would have been.

I'm a little confused here, how would pictures make it more authentic than a video?

I support Kaptin Scuzgob, watching these kind of videos is dorky as hell and basically restores your virginity (on the off chance you lost it in the first place)

Technically a video is just a bunch of images that progress rapidly to create motion, just like an illustrated animation. The biggest difference here is that audio was recorded alongside the video - separately, but still synchronized.
This video was done around 30 frames per second, typical of most qualities these days, so at this rate the video is composed of roughly 9,930 pictures.
I'd hope that's enough pictures. Happy now?

these are the only types of warhammer videos that should be on youtube
A great review that shows the potential in the kits. I am sure there are many ways you could convert these kits or use them as kick ass bitz to build your own stuff. Cant wait to get hacking a few apart!

The skyshield is cool....but no loading ramp?

yeah, you'd think they would have one but you could easily make one.

I was incredibly unimpressed with the bastion until I saw this video. Lot's of cool bits.
I still think the tower in the picture looks awful, but I can imagine building some really menacing fort in the side of a mountain with all those great pieces.

That is a good idea. Get several together and make a castle.

Most deff! Throw in some skysheild bits and tons of foam and we have a menacing fortress! Data sheets? Heheheh.....
I'm tempted to combine two bastions with a skyshield as a balcony halfway up. Think it could work?

Hey, this is John of Beasts of War. We would have done the defence line but the problem there was that GW didnt send them out in their pre-release packs.

I'm liking the bastion, and the sky shield looks big enought to hold a thunderhawk on the top of it.

Those were great videos. I too thought the bastions were unimpressive until I saw this video. Dammit now I have to pre-order.

Although I don't agree with how the Kaptin said it, please give me some photos of the stuff out of the box instead of making me watch someone physically open it and pull things out. Its a waste of my time when I could skim the images and click on the ones I'm interested faster than watching the video.
Thank you to the party who put it together, but next time, I'm fine with just photos.

Great Review John. Thanks for taking us through the kit. I preordered mine a few weeks ago but it is SO much better than I thought it woul be.

Well I prefer written reviews with high quality pictures. It is a lot easier and faster for me to utilize but ... one gets what they pay for. And whether it is a video or a written review these guys spent their own time and money to produce this. If somebody feels people will be better served with a written review then they should get off their behinds and do it themselves.

I typically prefer pictures over a video too, but often with terrain they make the mistake of just showing sprues or even the assembled terrain without any scale context. The terrain, plus one model and a photoshopped background doesn't cut it. Almost all of the 'official' pics of the recent GW terrain (forests, modular hills, even the game boards) suffered from this. It wasn't until I either saw them in person or saw some good 'in game' pics that I could appreciate their size on the table. In this case the video is nice because you get a good sense of how big the sprues/pieces actually are as the presenter handles the sprues and points things out... and this makes me feel better about the price of the kits. Nice work, thanks!
