  • VampireHarlequin · 4 months ago
*Whispers* The Feme Militant looks naff.

It looks like a combination of disparate ideas all thrown together onto one model. I can imagine a fevered design session now: "Let's have a peg-leg! Garrr, Oim a pirate! And on the other leg, uh...a platform shoe! With high heels, 'cos it's a girl! And we'll have abig hook on one arm, gar! I'm a pirate again! And a big whip on the other arm, 'cos it's a girl who likes inflicting pain, oooh, you like that don't you!" etc. Cack.

Go on the Space Wolves though, and the seated Elysians look cool. Hilariously, with that 'work in progress' sign next to them, it looks as if they're on the 08:30 being shuttled off to their day jobs at the office. With guns.
  • Guytholimew · 4 months ago
    AHAHAHA!

Ok, I didn't agree with you at first on the looking naff thing, but you do put forward a very convincing argument. But did you see the model in context with other models in the line? It seems to fit in well there.

You're very funny, by the way :D
  • The_Techpriest · 4 months ago
That's the typical Blanche recipe for you. "Take one nearly-naked, badly-proportioned, evil-sexy female, add scary Technobits, stir in two parts GrimDark, mix liberally with red and orange colors. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER COLORS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES."
  • VampireHarlequin · 4 months ago
So you mean to say that...Oh God...it'll look WORSE when it's painted? I can barely contain my apathy.

Thanks for the nice comments BTW Guy! And no I haven't yet seen the other models, but I can imagine that with them all assembled, it looks like a troup of Borg can-can dancers with fetish accessories. Am I anywhere close to the mark?
  • Hyperion · 4 months ago
    Or having a communal dump?
  • Vodski · 4 months ago
So thats where bioshock got its ideas for the splicers.
  • Chuck777 · 4 months ago
    It's a Femme Militant model.

Here's a pic of an older model: http://djartistknight.deviantart.com/art/GD-09-...

    Dark Eldar Grotesque?
  • kefka · 4 months ago
Oh please don't tease me... I hope it too be true...
  • shaefer · 4 months ago
that was my first impression as well.
  • Savark · 4 months ago
T'was my first impression as well
  • senfone · 4 months ago
that was my first impression as well, too
  • pierce raats · 4 months ago
me too. .. but now im not sure. its left leg looks very imperial to me, even with small skull embellishment. alot of people further down are saying its inquisitor related ... it determinately looks similar to the artwork mr. blanche did for inquisitor ,, the right arm looks like an arco-flagllents.
  • Benarius · 4 months ago
I too think its a grtesque.
  • heartbit · 4 months ago
I tought grotesque as well, but a few minutes ago, someone inside GW told me (with very small mouth), along 2010 the new INQUISITION Codex with all FULL 3 ORDOS toguether will see the light. So may it's Inquisition related
  • duder · 4 months ago
    Lies
  • gyar · 4 months ago
I dont think it would be a grotesque, if you look closely at the picture its almost completely mechanical. Looking at a droid of some type.
  • heartbit · 4 months ago
Why??? I got the same information for a second source. May you have some intel? Or you're a GW Studio staff member?
  • prophet665 · 4 months ago
I just started playing that army and I would kick a Sister Of Battle in the eye for that to be true. It makes no sense to have split the Inquisition up in to three groups. I mean they all have the authority to glass a planet, right?
  • Imperialsavant · 4 months ago
The Inquisition has always had 3 separate divisions.
    Xenos with Deathwatch
Mallius (Daemon Hunters) with Grey Knights
Hereticus Witchhunters) with Sisters of Battle
Makes sense to group them into 1 Codex as they do Ally with each other when it benefits or suits them.
  • Mike X · 4 months ago
While I agree WH and DH should be merged, I still don't think the Deathwatch should be featured in an Inquisition book.

Deathwatch are just elite Space Marines from multiple chapters, nothing more (aside from the equipment/weapons).

If they put Deathwatch in the book, it would effectively kill the need for Space Marines, since Deathwatch are the 'best of the best'.
  • Imperialsavant · 4 months ago
Yes Mike but they are "secondered" to the Death Watch by Ordo Xenos Inquisitors for individual missions & when no longer require they return to their Chapters. There would never be enough Death Watch Marines available as an Army & they are only fielded as part of an Xenos Inqs Team.
  • volrath8754 · 4 months ago
    OMG Death cult assassin!!!!
    Inquisition here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • ligolski · 4 months ago
that's what i thought at first, but i'm guessing DE in the nd
  • GW · 4 months ago
It is one of the new dark eldar minatures.

And on the Necromunda comment above, I have heard that it is being remade along the same lines as space hulk was. Very early still just talk.

And Space Hulk really is limited editionto all those nay sayers out there. When they are gone they are gone.
  • DM294 · 4 months ago
reminds me of a picture that I saw in that huge horus heresy book, the one with all the trading card pictures. If i'm not mistaken, it looks REALLY similar to an assassin. The cables and wiring around her arm and torso don't speak of dark eldar, but of adeptus mechanicus technology. The mechadendrite is a BIG giveaway that she's definitely human in affiliation.
  • clkeagle · 4 months ago
At a first glance, sure. But if the entire Dark Eldar line is being rebuilt from nothing, they could easily have a more bio-technological aspect to some of their units. I'd say either are a good guess.
  • colinodbl · 4 months ago
I hope Necromunda gets remade, it has the potential to be a really cool system but right now it pretty much sucks.
  • Steve Sundborg · 4 months ago
that mini looks familiar, i swear i've seen it before.
  • senmonjin · 4 months ago
  • faultie · 4 months ago
    Interesting...
  • carsten69 · 4 months ago
Really interesting.. If it's got anything to do with one another other than sharing 90% of the model the name surely suggest some inquisitional relation rather than a grotesque one...
  • Havik110 · 4 months ago
    thanks for killing my buzz,,,
  • Gregory Kozakewich · 4 months ago
I agree with the rest that it looks like a DE Grotesque... What this could mean makes me a little excited, but I could also be dead wrong. =(
  • chaosisbest · 4 months ago
The mini at the top is a remake of the femme militant models based on john Blanches artwork.
  • Mike X · 4 months ago
Definitely a Dark Eldar model. Most likely a Grotesque.

It clearly utilizes technology (40K), is skinny (Eldar), intent on inflicting pain (Dark Eldar), and bizarre (Grotesque).
  • Bomster · 4 months ago
Looks like a miniature of a typical John Blanche piece of art from the old "Inquis-Exterminatus" artbook. (which I like). Maybe it's a new Sister Repentia or something along those lines. Never liked the current models anyway.
  • Abraham Griffin · 4 months ago
I think it is a Mechanicum Assassin. Like Remaire, if anyone has read the Horus Heresy artbook.
  • moony · 4 months ago
    my thoguhts exactly.
  • sangrail777 · 4 months ago
That thing is not human, I'm gonna say grotesque.

  • Prof_Tesseract · 4 months ago
WTG chaosisbest. I got all bummed and thought i was going to have to read all 50+ comments that came after this one. I knew something was fishy when i first saw this 'cos i recognized the kroot bit.
Lesson to the rest of us: Any model ever is a DE/Inquisition/Mechanicus or what ever we want through the power of superglue and bitz. Or, in a word- Conversion!
  • LordSandwich · 4 months ago
Wait, you recognized the Kroot bit, when the model's entirely a green? Where are these bits?
  • BiG_Weasel · 4 months ago
Any reason it can't be a new DE troop type? Why are we pigeon holing ourselves into known quantities, instead of thinking outside the constraints of what already exists?
  • Prof_Tesseract · 4 months ago
I recognized the bit on the photo in the link.
  • Herald of Nurgle · 4 months ago
Haemonculus or something. It's DE, babeh!
  • chaosisbest · 4 months ago
Its not DE, for the last time.
  • Kungfuhustler · 4 months ago
Looks more like a grotesque... Or an acaro flagellent.
  • TheRealChris · 4 months ago
How do space wolves wear helmets?
  • Inquisitor Soren · 4 months ago
Lets all get down on our knees and pray to the Emperor that its Inquisition DCA's, we need some love!
  • CoreyTamas · 4 months ago
No matter how much love you think the Inquisition needs, Dark Eldar need it more.
  • Inquisitor Soren · 4 months ago
True, maybe. The DE are still a great list handled properly, with some admittedly flimsy and useless unit choices. But still not bad compared to the cost of a normal Grey Knight in power armor, though Sisters are still great, GKPs are really suffering, though from what I've heard they do better in Planetstrike. In all honesty both the Inquisition codices and the DE codex need a revamp, but lets hope for the best. (Still I'd love to have a Inquisition release within the next year, ya what a great pipe dream ya know...)
  • CoreyTamas · 4 months ago
Maybe, but we're talking about models here... not rules. Where models are concerned, Dark Eldar win the "Ugly Puppy" award.
  • Sathos · 4 months ago
and great rules or not, half the codex is unusable...that is not the basis for a good ruleset lol
  • madjackdeacon · 4 months ago
Chaosisbest nailed it in one. It's a sculpt of a piece of John Blanche's artwork. Best guess something new for the painters line of models a la Gotrek and Felix. Second best guess is something new for the Imperium.
  • MilitantJester · 4 months ago
Looks like either Chaos (DE) or maybe, JUST MAYBE, something Necron..a new Pariah style thing? The tentacle arm looks necron mut nothing else does.
  • Savark · 4 months ago
i would agree with the necron part, but personally i don't think they wear high-heels
  • Easy_the_killer · 4 months ago
It screams human of it. Just look at the shoe!
My first thought was Mechanicum, but on second thought I have to be a Inquisition thing.
  • BlueRonin · 4 months ago
I'm wondering whether the Chaos Reaver will be released with a Powerfist first, and then we need to wait before they convert the other options - or whether all the different arms will be released at the same time...
  • Easy_the_killer · 4 months ago
I have thought a bit on that to. I hope we can mix'n match as we wish :P
  • MadFred · 4 months ago
The first three pics show an older green for "femme militant" from John Blanche and were already presented by GW some years ago

Check the link for more of these:
    http://www.ageofstrife.com/gallery2.php?g2_item...
  • admiraldick · 4 months ago
for some reason the official site has gone off line, otherwise i would have provided a link.
  • gyar · 4 months ago
I would have to agree, that's the same model. Now, tell that to all the DE people out there...lol
  • PlasmaCow · 4 months ago
yeah, it's an old green from JBs Femme Militant 40mm scale (as opposed to INQs 54mm or 40Ks 28mm scales) set that only a select few were given, it's nothing new and a straight lift from his Inquisitor Sketchbook.
  • singeslayer · 4 months ago
    Great, more spacewolf crap.
Yea I said it's crap. A bunch of Blood Angel Wannabees =)
  • dan79 · 4 months ago
Yeah it's definately Cataphractii from Jhon Blanches Femme Militant. Sculpted by Dave Thomas. Discontinued last year.
You people have wired ideas. Was sold by BL Publishing but discontinued. As Black Library is just doing books now and not cool stuff anymore.
  • Wyrdstone · 4 months ago
that first one looks a lot like a splicer off of bioshock don't ya think?
not that that has anything really to do with it...
  • TSINI · 4 months ago
man that mini sure is weird, my train of thought went like this

    - could be a chaos daemon thing, but it looks too mechanical
    - could be a mechanicus servitor or something, but too menacing looking
    - oooh, maybe its an assassin, but a peg legged assassin? no chance

    i'm out
  • MATUS · 4 months ago
Four separate people have said that that model is a femme militant and provided the links to prove it, yet still people are guessing. Oh how I love the internet.
  • TSINI · 4 months ago
lol, i didnt read the replies before looking at the pics though.

yeah i did click through those posts, theyre bang on. still havent got a clue what theyre talking about though. :D
  • duder · 4 months ago
It's nothing related to any upcoming army releases, just a cool model. Don't crap your jorts folks
  • burningcrome · 4 months ago
"The mini at the top is a remake of the femme militant models based on john Blanches artwork."
I saved all the images of the femmes and this on is slightly diffrent but deffantly one of them. They could be using them as grotesque i serpose
  • qasu · 4 months ago
Hey, that model is part of John Blanche's Femme Militia, not a Dark Eldar Grotesque.
  • princealbert · 4 months ago
What are you talking about? It is obviously one of the new Chaos Squats that is going be included as a special bonus in the first 100 Space Hulk boxes sold. I think the Reaver Titan will probably be included in the mystery box when it is revealed on 19th September at Lichtenstein Games Day.

(Have I squeezed in enough ill informed internet nonsense yet? No?)

.. and I have it on good authority from a GW store manager that Bugman's Barroom board game is going to be upgraded to a core game, with 22/7 new armies being designed for it by a specialist team of New Zealand pygmies allowed only to sculpt in the light of the full moon, in the new standard GW scale of 23.6mm, and will be out in time for Christmas for 5 dollars each.
  • fireball · 4 months ago
ummm, totally wrong. You get 5 Dollars if you take it...
  • Jon Boy · 4 months ago
    Quality post :-)

Now I'm off to tell everyone that Jervis Johnson just said...
  • kryppers · 4 months ago
You know, it almost brings a tear to the eye when you see how many people didn't recognise it as a John Blanche piece when they saw it.

I've not seen the relevant artwork or model before, but it practically screams out as one of Blanches imperial studies.

I think it's a stunning model, and I look forward to seeing more of the same style of work. I always thought GW should promote their staff to release models individually to a new ruleset release, simply to bulk out the choices we have.
They must have a staff full of people making unique models in their spare time, why not release them?
  • Bridgetroll · 4 months ago
    http://www.ageofstrife.com/gallery2/main.php?g2...

    Cataphractii.

I really like the Femme Milinant miniatures, so beautifully Blanche-ish sick.

Well, you COULD use this rare collectors miniature as a stylish Dark Eldar Grotesque or something, but...
  • FreakForge · 4 months ago
The green it´s a John Blanche´s "Femme Militant" miniature.

A limited range of miniatures, 54mm based on J. Blanche´s designs.

Calling it a dark eldar grotesque.
  • daveyboy · 4 months ago
    hook for a hand.....check
    pegleg.................check
    eyepatch..............would have thought so

i've got it its a new range of GW SPACE PIRATES!!!!!!
  • mazzdakka · 4 months ago
I was thinking that it might be mechanicum at first glance, we've been waiting for Adeptus Mechanicus since Rogue trader, but after looking at the high heel, it has to be Dark eldar, nothing else makes sense.

The inquisition might have mechanical monstrosity's similar to this, but the design screams Dark Eldar to me. It could be a grotesque, or it could be a completely new unit, lets face it, the DE haven't been updated since the start of third edition, they NEED and update.
    EDIT
Oops, should've read everyone else's posts before posting myself, it does indeed look almost exactly like the female militant... GW could be using that model as a template for something new, it is an absolutely brilliant model and using a Gamesday model to create a new line would be a great idea (provided that they pay the original artist).
  • BitzBoxRob · 4 months ago
to me they look like some drawings from Liber Chaotica
  • Skragger · 4 months ago
I dont know.. everyone is running around screaming ASSASSIN! ASSASSIN!.. Peg legs and assassins just dont jive in my books.. I'm bending more towards the DE aspect rather than a new pirate-assassin.
  • TheNorseman · 4 months ago
Does anybody actually read the previous posts before posting their "Guesses"

The mini has been confirmed as a Femme Militant.

Now exactly what a Femme Militant is...is actually. Other than a set of models made from JB's artwork, I am not exactly sure.

Are they Imperial agents? or just a bunch of forgotten citizens in a warzone? chaos cultists?
  • Jim Porter · 4 months ago
ok...I just don't know but FM is fine...I think some of the other applications could work as well....
  • EmilioEstevez · 4 months ago
Well, I got really excited when I thought the first picture was a grotesque

then I was then extremely disappointed when I found out it wasn't. For the love of the dark Gods, show Dark Eldar some love for once GW!
  • P Duggan · 4 months ago
At first I worried I'd need that as a completist who wants Dark Heresy usable figs. But then I noticed the large size base. So this is not a 28mm compatible figure. It wouldn't look right along with grotesques.
  • emperorslion · 4 months ago
    Sickle hand: check.
Thigh high spike heeled platform boot stolen from Gene Simmons dressing room: check
    One boob: Check
    Whip: Check
    Straps and buckles: check.

Whatever it is, I'd say it was dedicated to slaanesh. stretch the whip out and the arm with the sickle and she/it becomes a living symbol of the Deviant One.
  • Inquisitor Nassir · 4 months ago
Full agreement here. The single boob marks it as Slaaneshi.
  • Sathos · 4 months ago
someone shoot the morons who cannot read... IT IS AN IMPERIAL AGENT...one of Joh blanche's femme militants.

read the many many many times above this post that it has been said...its not slaaneshi, its not dark eldar or necrons...its not your mum's new mistress... its an evil bitchfeatures that works for one of the more shady arms of the imperium aka the "good" guys.
  • emperorslion · 4 months ago
I can read fine, thank you. I was just pointing out the obvious things that would point to Slaanesh worship. No reason for anybody to be an a$$. I read all of the previous posts and checked out the heavily modified version that was shown. My opinion hasn't changed. The sickle and whip have looong been associated with slaanesh, as is the single boob and the long strappy platform boot with the heels.
  • fasdf · 4 months ago
It looks like the arco flagellants in the Witch hunters or quite possibly an assasin or servitor/henchman
  • Muskie · 4 months ago
I was thinking Dark Eldar too...

    HOLY HELL ITS DARK ELDAR!!!

I have learned to read and it is not a dark eldar...I am a sad panda...
  • Jonathan · 4 months ago
This blog post emphasizes one of the things I find most annoying about BoLS at times. Here we have the green of a mini that is easy to identify.

-It was commercially released and sold via GW distribution
    - Blanche had the sketches and painted examples on his own site for a LONG time
-ANYONE could have simply asked the Games Day people and identified it, as well.

But instead, BoLS posts this and doesn't do ANY basic homework, which starts an entire chain of retarded, uninformed comments, which then proceeds to ripple throughout the internet. "OMG Dark Eldar- I saw it on BoLS".

The fact that it was identified by readers quickly, and that people STILL posted inaccurate "guesses" should be surprising, but unfortunately just confirms that people don't read, nor pay attention.

Had BoLS taken a few minutes and identified the mini to start with, it wouldn't have started a chain reaction of misinformation that will inevitably spread today. It's just sloppy work, and could have easily been avoided.
  • chaosisbest · 4 months ago
    Thank you Jonathan!
  • desaster · 4 months ago
That's exactly what I was thinking.
Goddammit, that's the second time in a couple of weeks (after that "AdMech"-Terminator) and it's just frikking annoying.

If you want to be frontline news and rumours, do your homework.
