Now the thing that annoys me is that, GW Oz still manage to ramp up the prices.

here are the latest megaforeces in AUD:

Ork = $295.00. If bought from US GW = $217.00

SM = $285.00. If bought from US GW = $190.00

Now tell me if thats fair..
Seriously its bullcrap. Oh well looks like ill be ordering form warstore

Whoa, those are some pretty awesome sets. Too bad I don't play any of those armies.
Well, I do play harad, but that's pretty specific and they only get three new models.
  • fenris · 2 months ago
Well, you could always start another one... GW keeps on trying to suck us in further...
  • Nachocheez · 2 months ago
    Nice fortress!!!!
btw, is it purely a DA thing, or does it have seperate icons for other chapters?
seems to be a lot of effort just for DA players :P
  • Sasquatch1916 · 2 months ago
the only technically DA specific emblems are those little shields on the side. the hooded guy with the sword can represent several things. so, in theory, it works for any chapter or even guard
  • Spun · 2 months ago
Whats that? Storm Shields for DA Terminators? Sure could be.
  • Molochi · 2 months ago
you hush. We have a crappy codex that won't be updated forever. We deserve something nice.

Anybody have any details on the Realm of Battle gameboard extension? I know there was a rumour floating around about a trench section.

*Noob edit* The sections are there to see on the GW website.
  • majorwesjanson · 2 months ago
So far the extension is just the two flat sections of the game board bundled separately. New sections like trench and coast/river may come later.
  • theHman · 2 months ago
    Lame.
  • Cergorach · 2 months ago
Any details on the Orcs and Goblins Brigade contents and Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard Extension?
  • sodcactus · 2 months ago
Directly from GW: "38 Orc Boyz, 10 Black Orcs, 40 Night Goblins, 10 Forest Goblin Spider Riders, 10 Goblin Wolf Riders and an Orc Boar Chariot"
  • majorwesjanson · 2 months ago
All up in advance orders, or the article on the main page of GW today.

I have to ask, what's the difference between this SM Megaforce and the previous release?
  • Sathos · 2 months ago
it has scouts...thats the only difference between this and the old £75 megaforce
  • Mike X · 2 months ago
Ah, thanks. My LGS still sells the old one, so I was wondering why this was considered a 'new release'.
  • Maine · 2 months ago
That is incorrect - the old one had an SM Commander, Command Squad, and a Razorback. This one drops the commander and squad, downgrades the Razorback to a Rhino, but adds 5 more tactical marines.
  • Sathos · 2 months ago
there has been one since the last one I bought then as the last one I bought (got the box right next to me) is only missing the scouts.
  • Maine · 2 months ago
The old one had a Space Marine commander, 5-man Command Squad, 15 Tactical Marines, 5 Assault Marines, 5 Scouts, Razorback, Predator, and Dreadnaught.

This one has 20 Tactical Marines, 5 Assault Marines, 5 Scouts, Rhino, Predator, Dreadnaught.

In other words, it drops the Commander, Command Squad, and downgrades a Razorback to a Rhino. In return, it adds 5 Tactical Marines.
  • calperr · 2 months ago
If you mean Strike Force, it HAD a Vindicator, Land Raider, Commander, 5xCommand squad, Whirlwind, 2 Rhinos(or no whirlwind and 3 Rhinos)2 10xTact Marines and I think it had Razorback bitz too. cost more no scouts, no assault

If you mean Battle Force, it HAS 5xScout squad, 5x Assault squad,3 5xTactical, and a Rhino
  • Maine · 2 months ago
No, I mean what I mean - the old Space Marine Megaforce from 2006-2007 for $175, released around same time as the Tau Megaforce I believe.

See here for the contents: http://www.tabletopwargames.com/40k/48-31.htm

    (The price is in Canadian)
  • Miggidy_Mack · 2 months ago
I must say, I'm pretty impressed with the pricing. Earlier I had pointed out that the megaforce wasn't really a savings, low and behold it's not 200 bucks, its' 175, which is a much better deal.

190 for the Ork's is also a better deal than expected.

The Fortress, however, is the super star. That's a LOT of building for 100 bucks. I can't wait to pick one up.

WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!! YAY! I'm so excited! Days like today make me love GW.
  • theHman · 2 months ago
Sadly GW hates my LGS. They still haven't gotten my temple of skulls, imperial strongpoint, or my shrine of the aquila.

So I'm not holding my breath on the awesome Fortress.
  • scarylion · 2 months ago
hmm, space marine and ork megaforces are both the same price on the UK site..
  • Anonymous · 2 months ago
I see they made sure only one detail pic actually has Dark Angels manning the fortress.
  • coolcyclone2000 · 2 months ago
    What's a "sleeper kit"?
  • jizzy · 2 months ago
    Plastic thunderhawk would be awesome.
  • Syderwarp · 2 months ago
That F!@#$ imperial warzone price is stoopid high. That's like someones rent/car payment!!!!! GW must keep going up right!!!!!! Have to make the shareholder happy, before the customers. I refuse to pay retail,or buy another GW store purchace. I will keep paying for the EBay/free shipping until GW if ever goes back to a sale style price.
  • hashshashin · 2 months ago
sippin' on hater-aide I see... Yeah the price is stupid high, but if you have money and want an awesome table and crazy amount of bastions, walls, and the new fortress here you go. If you want to complain that te cost of your toy soldiers is too high, you can look into playing with toy cars, or legos, that your choice. As far as GW being a business that wants to generate profit and keep its shareholders happy, well you know they are a company not a charity and its a game of toys for grown men to play with not a nessesity. So the people with money need toy love too.
  • Jakk88 · 2 months ago
WOW nearly $200 and not even a legal army. Would have thought GW would give you a Freebie (maybe even only available in this box) General/Army leader in the box.

You could say GW just create these deal boxes to sweeten the deal for ebay re-sellers but theirs no real saving on just buying the units separately.

Not exactly inspiring stuff from the GW marketing team.

    Nice fortress though!
