That's pure awesomeness... I couldn't so much detail on normal scale model. Cool!

I use a 3d printer, but not a scanner.
If you ran a direct scan, you'd end up with a model that was unsuitable for casting at Epic scale.
So I have to do re-design work in order to make it possible to cast the model at 6mm scale.
In general I am a scale freak though, so pretty much every single rivet on the 28mm model is represented on the Epic version, for example.

you are ingenious and your re-design is very very good.

I'm curious about what type of printer and printer material you used. From the looks of the model and considering the scale I would guess some kind of Objet brand printer. I am doing some related projects for personal use and I would appreciate any insight about printers/materials you have had success with.

I used a Projet HD 3000 for this particular model.

I have one of those in 28mm, and it is hands-down one of my favorite 40k models. This transfer to Epic scale is superb. I commend anyone whose eyes are good enough to make that!

His skill is with computers which in many ways can be more difficult than the sculpting, these are done CAD style :)

Scratchbuilding or scultping that level of detail for epic looks like a nightmare...

Holy awesome! I couldn't do a scratch build at 28mm with that much detail. Are you allowed to not make any money on these?

I am not allowed to make any money from them (unless GW wants them off me).
I'm doing it just for the love of Epic, GW's most adult-appropriate wargame.
Check out the link below to see my scale-fixed Malcador, including the components for two new Malcador variants.
