Bell of Lost Souls: Flesh Tearers Logo Sheet

  • Tyrael · 1 year ago
my vote is for soul drinkers and maybe Red Corsairs/Astral Claws
  • LEGION3000 · 1 year ago
There is a website in the September White Dwarf for the Astral Claws sheet. It is in the Tale of 4 gamers section. I don't have it with me but if someone could post it up that would be great.
  • Savark · 1 year ago
Yes, very good, if only i could collect them, do you think you could make a Mars Army Sheet? (ADEPTUS MECHANICUS)
  • George. · 1 year ago
What about Exorcists??? I think that the horned skull motif would be quite popular with other chapters as well. Librarians regularly use it and it does make a cool generic 40k symbol of weirdness too.
  • Forhekset · 1 year ago
Blood Angels complete squad and company markings!
  • Desaster · 1 year ago
    Finally!
    Thank you very much!

AdMech would be very useful, I second that!
  • Nork's Minis · 1 year ago
Yay! I've wanted these forever, besides my own BT, Flesh Tearers are my favorite second founding! I'm certainly going to test these out. I just wish someone would commission us to do some Flesh Tearers, so I could use these more....

The transfers are amazing (like everything else you guys do).

Next set? I vote for Soul Drinkers. I am a Soul Drinkers geek. I've read the series 3 times (and "Crimson Tears" 5 times), have a 3,000-point SD army (With converted Sarpedon, Tellos, Luko, and Graevus models), and a home-made Soulspear (I'm not under the illusion that it actually works, but a guy can dream, can't he?). My Soul Drinkers have no insignia. I have tried (and failed) to paint chalices on their shoulder pads half a dozen times, but they aren't uniform and it makes me crazy. I've even tried cutting chalices out of rolled-out green stuff, but they don't look good either. Golden chalice transfers would be awesome.

Thanks again for everything you guys do for the 40K hobby (more of a lifestyle choice, really).

Are you serious? I hated those books so much. Ben Counter is like the worst BL writer there is. eg, the latest Heresy book.
  • Forhekset · 1 year ago
PS. Alas, your army sounds cool, as even after reading those awful books I spent quite awhile writing custom rules and thinking about conversions ;) The idea of the chapter is an interesting one I must admit, I just hate Counter's writing.

Do you have pics of the characters?
  • abhinavjain · 1 year ago
seriously? some of the best books from Ben Counter and you think he is the worst BL writer?
well everyone is a critic these days i guess.
if he was the worst BL writer, I don't think he would be on the payroll...
  • Forhekset · 1 year ago
Battle For The Abyss is almost universally decried as the not only the worst in the series, but a major failing on account of the spoilt chance to address an aspect of the most important series of events core to the fluff.

He's bland and repetitive, shoot this, shoot that, go over here, kill this guy... yes perhaps that's what 40k is about, but come on, Abnett can inject some soul, flavour and even flair into it, why can't he?
  • Augie · 1 year ago
Every place I've run across has Descent of Angels as the penultimate worst in the series, closely followed by Legion. While Legion was interesting, it was drawn out and boring, or so the populist opinion goes. It also fell face flat on setting up an enormous event important to the fluff. Compared to these failures, ..Abyss was just a regular battle book which is, ironically, what Counter is best at.

I liked the Soul Drinkers series, however, I think it went awry in Chapter War.
  • fireofthegods · 1 year ago
lol u havent read descent of angels Mitchel Scanlon is a joke, ben counter is 1 of the best writers bl has
  • Son of Dorn · 1 year ago
"if he was the worst BL writer, I don't think he would be on the payroll..."
Only if you assume they sack the worst write on sight. Which would make no sense because then the second worst writer would have to get the sack, then the third. I'm sure you see the pattern that plagues your specious reasoning.
That said, Ben Counter is pretty good. For BL. Which is not literature or anything, so really. What do you expect?
  • LEGION3000 · 1 year ago
Check the Warhammer fantasy for Bretonnian transfers. I am pretty sure there is a chalice on there. You are not going to be able to print out a gold transfer from anywhere unless you have a printer with gold ink.
  • Game Thug · 1 year ago
The Bretonnian transfers are the way to go. Also, there's a great opporunity for a Chapter Banner there in the Bret line.
  • Psybewrwolfe · 1 year ago
Looking good guys! I vote for Space Sharks logos next
  • Jeff · 1 year ago
I definitely second the vote for Space Sharks.
  • FabricatorGeneral · 1 year ago
Woweee, guys. Talk about the way-back machine. Why don't we get some Rainbow Warriors transfers too while we're at it?
  • Siph · 1 year ago
Great job guys as always. We always check up on your site from over here in Blighty. How about following on from your Titan Legions Logo sheets and have some Warp Runners (Legio Astorum) to coincide with the new Imperial Armour Siege of Vraks II? Pretty please.

I have 2 new Reavers to paint... (don't tell my wife)

"I have 2 new Reavers to paint... (don't tell my wife)

LMFAO ROFL. I know! I just ebayed a phantom and pre-ordered the Cobra super heavy with about another 500 or so in FW. Im right there with you!

Is it just me or is it a race to the mailbox first so you can take out the invoice, lol.

Plz create a Decal Sheet for the Howling Griffon Chapter.
  • mtd · 1 year ago
How about a bunch of battle damage decals like bullet holes and other blasts and burn marks
  • Bulwark · 1 year ago
    Thats not a bad idea.
  • mtd · 1 year ago
You could break it down with different classes of weapons leaving different types of marks. Lots of possibilities.
  • rockdeity · 1 year ago
    wow, awesome idea.
  • Sergeant Culn · 1 year ago
Some Red Scorpions transfers would be good for me, what with all that good stuff in the mail from forgeworld and a need to pad out the rank and file.
  • LEGION3000 · 1 year ago
I knew you were doing Flesh Tearers when you posted up that red and black frog!

Excellent sheet. I had considered making a FT army way back when but the prospect of painting tiny saw blades made me think again. Bravo.

I would like to put in my request for the Raptors in black, white AND red (new Mentors)
  • GeorgeLupus · 1 year ago
I'll throw in a request for a Brazen Claw logo sheet. I only have few of them because that infernal claw is impossible to paint consistantly on a SM shoulder.
  • Veahirin · 1 year ago
The only thing that I would find useful is a transfer sheet of scroll work. I know its not that hard to paint, but it might look better on a transfer. Just a thought.
  • sam · 1 year ago
    Admech would be dreamy...
    mmmmm...admech... (drools..)
  • Bigred · 1 year ago
I'll probably do another Blood Angel successor chapter, then branch out to other stuff soon to coincide with mkerr's upcoming Army of Death mini-dex. Its going to be really sick!

Keep the comments and requests coming guys. I do these to keep the community happy so I need to hear what folks want.

On a semi-related note, expect a review of Battle for the Abyss in the near future. I'm almost through with it.
  • Veahirin · 1 year ago
    2 questions:

    1. Army of Death mini dex??? details?

    2. How were you able to finish Battle for the Abyss. I have been mid way through for weeks... Just can't seem to get the push to want to finish it.

How about some Age of Heresy painting stuff, and some Space Marine bannersized logos
  • Veahirin · 1 year ago
good call on the banner sized decals, or even full banners, for those of us who are really lazy (like me)

  • Denzark · 1 year ago
The hardest to paint ever - retro (RT, Compendium) original Space Wolf red outline, yellow filled heads. How hard to paint, even inside the lines of the citadel transfer?

Or what about, out of left field, a load of random bone structures, for LoD? Even chaos may get some utility out of that.
  • Bob the Unseen · 1 year ago
Bravo, the more support for alternate chapters the better.
  • Lemmings · 1 year ago
I would like to request Lamentors, and second the vote for Adeptus Mechanicus.
  • Mike · 1 year ago
    Hmm.. thats really nice

any chance of a black consuls logo sheet?
  • FabricatorGeneral · 1 year ago
Third for AdMech! Though as it is also the symbol of Forgeworld, it might cause a fuss with GW legal. An alternative might be in order, though! rWhat are fellow Scions of Mars devotees using?
  • Augie · 1 year ago
Uhm. Damn. They've got the Blood Angel's drop in the center.

Could you make one without the drop for those of us still in Rogue Trader?

    :)
  • Dan · 1 year ago

  • Jesse · 1 year ago
Hay guys I just want to point something out on your Flesh Tearers logo, they are back wards. If you look at the GW metal shoulder pads you will see that the blades are going the wrong way. You will also notice, that there are only 12 blades on the saw on the actual shoulder pads. Sorry for nit picking, but if I want to use them as templates, they'd be worth less to me, since I have actual shoulder pads and the logo on the sides of my landraider are painted the same way.
  • Rob Scott · 1 year ago
    A good point.

You could reverse the image before printing which is what I have done.
  • Bigred · 1 year ago
Odd, because every image in a codex or article I found shows the blades pointed as I made them. There is also great variation in the number of "teeth" the logo uses.

    Look here:

  • Jesse · 1 year ago
Yeah I noticed the same thing in the Index Astras book I have too. (sorry for the spelling). It was a GW article and it had the blades going the wrong way. I discovered this when I tried to use the FT symbol as a template from that article. I've also noticed in the WD issue 310 that the model of the FT has the pre-made symbol back wards, but if you go to the back of the book and look at another conversion, using Khorne Berzerkers, you will noticed that they have the metal shoulder pads going the way they should go. If you guys have access to the White Dwarf issue check it out.
I'm probally going to have either my girlfriend or her brother draw me the symbol and use that as a template. If you want to I could try and send you guys the drawing.
