More on the Titans, old games like Titanicus. With the release of APOC my thirst for Titan/SuperHeavy/massive stuff-fluff is at an all time high.

Sounds nice, i'm still looking forward to a collecters dvd, even the German whitedwarf has about 160 issues. it takes some time if you're searching for a specific article, especialliy the background storys

Would want to make the Dice Like Thunder Guys mad, would you? Imagine the Poop Storm if they did that and not a new codex?

I agree Herald.... I hope GW brings back Arbites, Genestealer cults, and even new kid on the block Kroot, with updated rules.
I think I just soiled myself.

Seems like old news. This is from yesterday. Guys. Really falling behind on the breaking news. Just kidding.

It would be awesome to have all of the articles from past white dwarfs online and searchable for people. I know I have issues going back to around 200, but digging through all of them would take quite awhile. There are some general indexes up though to help with digging. It would be quite a daunting fan project to put together a digital database of the issues (even if you could get past the brutal GW copyright attack)

I couldn't see the Index Astartes articles going up unless they stop printing the books as they would lose money and we know our favourite company is a penny pincher :)

id like to see the old articles on characters and old models that have faded away (ie gaunts ghosts) I have these models without any rules...what the hell should I do with them?
and I'd love to see specialist games section of this whole white dwarf thing. Epic and BattleFleet Gothic especially.

What is there to argue?
As much as I have had beef with GW during it's 3rd and 4th edition era of 40k, since 5th edition, the company has started to step up its game.
Bringing back articles that old farts like me used to read years ago (when WD was worth buying) is a brilliant move. Even though this is years late, its a start.
Good job GW!

I concur. I'm liking the sounds of the blog, and liking the archive even more. The first white dwarf I have (Australian num. 205) had the marine dreadnought released for second edition, and I'm eager to see what the earlier ones were like.

"when WD was worth buying"
When *was* that exactly? I read White Dwarf from issue 119 through to about issue 174; I stopped when it stopped being worth buying for me. (I was sick of every bloody miniature being painted in bright red (often contrasted with bright green highlight; World Eater CSM's with green piping were the worst offenders!) and the fact that every other release seemed to be for Fantasy Battle. Stupid bloody Chaos Dwarves. Like I cared about them and their fruity beards and stupid, stupid hats and frankly good riddance to that weird, strange little piece of GW history. Sorry - personal rant, please ignore me if you liked them.)
However, all the hard-core GW followers told me I was an idiot for reading it, and complained that it hadn't been worth buying since it stopped doing non-GW games, lamenting that they missed the articles for Traveller or D&D, or whatever game they thought was great back when they were 11 and had nothing better to do now the ice age had killed all the dinosaurs they used to play with.
The bottom line seems to me to be that White Dwarf has pretty much always been fairly hit and miss; "when WD was worth buying" tends to be from whenever you started, back when you were young and GW miniatures were TEH KEWLEST EVAR!!111ELEVEN!!11! to whenever you realise that it's usually just an extended advert for GW products, and it's worn too thin for you to take any more.

"When *was* that exactly?"
Just after 3rd edition came out. When the hobby trade magazine became an over priced advertising vehicle.

I love the idea of the archive. Hopefully it will get updated a bit more than the Black Library archives. Also, when will they get rid of that inane drop down/+/- menu system? I hate navigating it.

one article I would like to see as a witch hunters player is the old one about the different imperial saints.
great for finding backgrounds and story for lesser orders.

Which WD was that?
Bluephoenix

thats what I've been trying to figure out ever since I was shown it by the manager of my local store. it was clipped out (he keeps it with his sisters army)
Everything else is about dawn of war 1, some random anime or stuff you'd already have seen in the witch hunters codex.

there were quite a few more than are mentioned, as well as the background for several lesser orders. (order of the shielded heart amongst them)

Has anyone gone and checked to see what articles were posted? Tis only the dribble from the last 2 years. I understand it is a major undertaking to post any of the articles from way back. However this stint seems more like playing follow the leader then offering up any substinance or quality. The last few years of WD have been meek at best. I will withhold my kuddoes until GW starts offering up their quality I have been hooked on for so so many years (plastic figs not withstanding)

The Epic Space Marine battle report from issue 136. That was a sweet one. Any Jes Goodwin concept sketches. All Mark Gibbon's old pencil sketches too.
