Bell of Lost Souls: NEWS: Mechanicum

    already read it :)

Far better than Battle for the Abyss, although there are still some strange parts to the story that just seem a little out of place.

Overall very good addition to the HH series.

Let's just hope it's better than 'Battle for the Abyss '
    :-S

And what's this 'Tales of Heresy ' about then?
  • Herald of Nurgle · 1 year ago
Short Stories, based around the Horus Heresy, of course =P

I'm really loking forward to this one

So... does the 'first 300' include preorders? or only orders once it comes out?

sigh. Need to be specific. And are they going to take that down once they have their 300 orders?

BTW, Titanicus, which is also largely about the Mechanicum, since they're the wing of the Imperium that maintains and runs the Titans, is fantastic. Abnett is far and away the best writer the BL has and he proves it every time a new offering appears.

This looks like a nice book,
    I might be reading it.
It sounds interesting, because the backround articles on the GW site never explained what happened on mars in the heresy.

Well it it ain't better than Descent of Angels or Battle of the Abyss or Legion, I'll be severely disappointed. Those just sucked bolter rounds.

Agree with the first two books, but Legion was bad? That was a great read - just a little complicated.
  • Mooooooo! · 1 year ago
Depends on perspective I guess. I thought Legion sucked because it felt like the book was an overly long extrapolation on a single revealing point.
The complication, IMHO, was dancing around needlessly.

I was really disappointed in Decent of Angels, however next year BL will come out with "Fallen Angels"... go to the BL site and look at he stuff comig soon... Ihope thatis better than the "preview"

I would go as far to say that Legion was the best of the series so far, but Fulgrim was a close second. I've not read much of McNeill's work, but what i have read is very good.

Am I right in thinking, that Abnett and McNeill co-wrote the whole heresy series on a basic level, and other authors were drafted in to pen the majority of the novels? I know McNeill wrote the over-sized Heresy art books before this.

Thank goodness its not another Ben Counter book. God in heaven that guy is not fun for me to read. And this is coming from someone who is really into the subject matter. If the Black Library decision makers are reading: Please- no more Counter. He takes what should be great fun in reading, and turns it into an economics text book.... :(

I haven't read anything Graham McNeill has written that I haven't enjoyed. I'm sure it will be a must read.

i thought that all Titanicus was hardcover is there a LE one out there also? o an i just ordered Mechanicum do you guys think that i got 1 of the 300 signed ones?
  • BrassScorpion · 1 year ago
Titanicus is currently hardcover. A paperback will surely follow after the hardcover has a good time to sell.

Mechanicum is softcover right from the start. The usual mass market size and $7.99 US.
