Take mandrakes as an example: The hidden deployment rule rocks and so does the cover-save bonus but when they get into assault... then what? They get torn apart by everything thats not a gretchin or a scarab swarm.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

glad dark eldar being redone concentrate bumming eldar 2 much its not fare game

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

cool any idea when the 2nd wave of Marines is released

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

Chaos Daemons did sneak in out of nowhere earlier this year... I don't think it's crazy to believe more Chaos is coming. Especially when the rumored "other" chaos books have been mentioned for a long time now.

I can see GW giving prioritized attention to Chaos, they are just a spin off of their flagship Marines anyways ... right?

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

Really? That would be brilliant, but i can't see it myself. There seems to be a rather full schedule for 2009 already, plus it has been previously mentioned on BOLS that all other 40K codicies should be finished first.
Don't know quite what to think at the moment, but after we had a new Chaos codex in late 2007, i doubt that they'd give us another so soon (even with the changes of 5th). It's a shame but i reckon 2010 will be more likely.
Sorry if i seem to have shot you down but that's my opinion - if you do have evidence to support an 09 release than i apologise and will get rather excited.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

There is alot of talk about a "Codex chaos legion" to cover the origanal 9 legions that rebeled in the HH. GW have as good as confirmed they are working on it and have strongly hinted about a summer 09 release.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

Look at the codex and the copyright date on it. it will say 1998.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

I feel your pain... but please stop making up numbers to prove a point. You are making DE players look bad.
DE were introduces as an army with 3rd ed. 3rd ed came out, i believe, in 2000 or 2001. The 2nd edition of the DE codex was released in 2002.
If I follow the math that you have used, I am lead to belive that 1998 to 2008 equals 20 years?

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

except for the fact that the oldest fantasy army rulesbook left would be tomb kings and we sit and wait.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

It wasn't my intention. I play wolvesmyself. I own nearly 10,000 points of them, including the old Bjorn (when the box actually said Bjorn and wasnt a space wolve dreadnaught, and Njal Stormcaller, along with most of the other old codex names we have lost.

I want the new wolves, I just dont see them soon.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

Thanks for ruining my hopes, KaCee. The only thing changed from the 1st codex and 2nd
was vehicle upgrades and heroes and wych weapons. It is from 1998. They
have had enough time. We need it more than the necrons. Finish our codex
do 1 or 2 models and release them slowly like every codex they are doing
now. We need to be faster then every other army, hit harder and die faster
then everyone else. the reason they have done so porly in sales is directly
due to GW abandoning them for 20 years. We dont even get apocholips crap.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

I'd rather wait a little longer knowing that the codex is going to be done right than them put it out when it wasn't ready. I mean, look at the Chaos codex, they could've done with abit more time spent on that... or just not give it to Gav Thorpe to write.

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

It s Latin for 'Let the buyer beware"'.

Used in English it means that a purchaser of goods should check them before parting with any money - alternative "sold as seen".

In this context, it means that this is only a rumour that may not be true, or entirely true so you should 'take it with a pinch of salt'.

Hope that helps,
John

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

wtf does caveat or standard caveats or caveat emptor means????

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

all hail lizardmen creators of all, the followers of the old ones and slann! yipee more dinoes to play with

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

Not quite- a weapon destroyed just take 1 attack a turn off the gauss arc... so 6WD will stop it from firing but there's nothing that says its then destroyed and can't suffer a 7th weapon destroyed as normal.

But even assuming it can be weapon destroyed it'll still take 8 'damage' results to destroy the darn thing.. or about 36 turns with 2 TH :'(

Re: RUMORS: WFB/40k Schedules

You should definetively do that!
